Itinerary

Morning Pick-Up from Kigali

Your driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kigali at 5:30 AM to begin your journey to Akagera. Enjoy a scenic drive through Rwanda’s countryside with rolling hills and traditional villages along the way.

Morning Game Drive in Akagera

On arrival, enter the park through the southern gate and begin your adventure with a guided game drive across the open plains. Keep your eyes out for elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and a variety of antelope species including impalas and topis. With some luck, you may spot lions, leopards, or even rhinos as the park is now a full Big Five destination.

Lunch Break

Enjoy a packed lunch or picnic in one of the scenic spots inside the park, taking in the beauty of the lakes and savannahs.

Afternoon Exploration & Scenic Drive Out

After lunch, continue your game drive as you make your way towards the northern exit of the park. This route offers incredible wildlife viewing opportunities and is also a chance to spot hippos, crocodiles, and abundant birdlife along the water bodies.

Return to Kigali

Exit the park in the late afternoon and begin your drive back to Kigali, arriving in the early evening (around 6:30 PM). Your guide will drop you off at your hotel or at Kigali International Airport depending on your onward travel plans.
