What to Pack for the 14 Days Uganda Safari Adventure

Recommended items include:

  • Comfortable hiking boots
  • Lightweight trousers
  • Long-sleeved shirts
  • Waterproof jacket
  • Garden gloves for gorilla trekking
  • Hat and sunglasses
  • Sunscreen
  • Insect repellent

For gorilla trekking, sturdy waterproof footwear and long trousers are particularly useful because forest trails can be muddy and uneven.

Best Time for the 14 Days Uganda Safari Adventure

Uganda is a year-round safari destination. The drier periods are generally popular for wildlife viewing and primate trekking because some roads and trails can be easier to navigate.

The wetter seasons can also provide rewarding experiences, with greener scenery and excellent photography opportunities.

Gorilla and chimpanzee trekking take place throughout the year, although forest conditions can change depending on rainfall.

Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed because animals move naturally through their habitats.

Important Gorilla Trekking Information

Gorilla trekking can be physically demanding. Travelers should be prepared for walking through steep, uneven and sometimes muddy forest terrain.

The duration of a gorilla trek is not fixed. It depends on the location and movements of the gorilla family, terrain, weather and forest conditions.

Gorilla permits are limited, so advance booking is strongly recommended, particularly during popular travel periods.

The gorilla trekking sector should be confirmed when the permit is secured because accommodation and routing should correspond with the selected sector.
