Best Time for the 15 Days Best of Uganda Safari
Uganda is a year-round safari destination.
The drier periods are generally popular for wildlife viewing and gorilla and chimpanzee trekking because some roads and forest trails may be easier to navigate.
The wetter seasons can also offer rewarding safari experiences, including greener landscapes and excellent photography conditions.
Gorilla and chimpanzee trekking take place throughout the year, although forest conditions can change depending on rainfall.
Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed because animals move freely through their natural habitats.
Important Gorilla Trekking Information
Gorilla trekking can be physically demanding and involves walking through a natural forest environment.
The terrain may include steep slopes, uneven trails, dense vegetation and muddy sections.
The duration of the trek is not fixed. It depends on the location and movements of the gorilla family, terrain, weather and forest conditions.
Gorilla permits are limited, so advance booking is strongly recommended, especially during popular travel periods.
The gorilla trekking sector should be confirmed when the permit is secured because accommodation and routing should correspond with the selected sector.
