Itinerary

• Day 1: Arrival and Travel to Volcanoes National Park

  Your adventure begins the moment you arrive. First, your professional guide will pick you up from Kigali International Airport or your hotel in Kigali. After a brief welcome and safety orientation, you will board a comfortable safari vehicle. Next, you will embark on a scenic two-hour drive heading northwest toward Musanze. This beautiful journey takes you through lush rolling hills and vibrant local villages. Because the landscapes are so stunning, you will have plenty of opportunities to take incredible photos along the way. Once you arrive at Volcanoes National Park, you will check into your pre-booked lodge. Afterward, you can relax and enjoy a delicious dinner while preparing for the exciting trek tomorrow.

• Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and Departure

  This day is the highlight of your safari. Early in the morning, you will enjoy a hearty breakfast at the lodge. Then, your guide will drive you to the Kinigi park headquarters for an important briefing. Park rangers will explain the trekking rules and assign you to a specific gorilla family. Subsequently, you will enter the dense rain forest to begin your trek. The hike can take anywhere from one to five hours, depending on where the gorillas are located. Although the terrain can be steep and muddy, the reward is absolutely worth the effort. When you finally locate the gorilla family, you will spend one magical hour observing them. You can watch them play, feed, and interact just a few meters away. After this breathtaking encounter, you will hike back to the headquarters. Finally, your guide will drive you back to Kigali for your departure flight or hotel drop-off, concluding your amazing safari.
