Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Nyungwe Forest National Park
Pick up from your Kigali hotel in the morning and travel south to Nyungwe Forest through Rwanda’s scenic rolling hills. Along the way, enjoy breathtaking landscapes and local villages.
Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch. The afternoon can be spent relaxing or taking a short guided nature walk around the lodge to start familiarizing yourself with the forest’s flora and fauna.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking in Nyungwe Forest
After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing by park rangers. Set off on your chimpanzee trekking adventure, following trained guides into the dense rainforest to locate a habituated chimpanzee group.
The trek can last 2–5 hours, depending on where the chimpanzees are located. Along the way, your guide will point out other primates, rare birds, and unique plants. Once you locate the chimpanzees, spend an unforgettab le one hour observing their playful and social behaviors.
Return to your lodge for lunch and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure, relaxing in the serene forest environment.

Day 3: Optional Nature Walks and Transfer Back to Kigali
After breakfast, enjoy a morning of optional nature walks or canopy walk (additional cost) to explore the forest’s biodiversity, including colobus monkeys, birds, and butterflies.
After lunch, begin the scenic drive back to Kigali, arriving in the late afternoon or evening, marking t he end of your chimpanzee trekking safari.
