Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival, Kigali City Tour, and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
On the first day, your driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel or the airport. After a safari briefing, you’ll embark on a Kigali city tour to visit:
Following lunch in Kigali, you’ll journey to Volcanoes National Park, a scenic 2-3 hour drive. Upon arrival, you’ll check into your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Begin your day early with breakfast and a packed lunch. Your guide will drive you to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing. Accompanied by an experienced park guide, you’ll trek through the forest, which may take 30 minutes to 6 hours depending on the gorillas’ location.
During your trek, you might encounter other wildlife. Once you locate the mountain gorillas, you’ll have one hour to observe and photograph these incredible animals in their habitat, watching them feed, groom, and interact. After your time with the gorillas, return to the lodge for a relaxing evening with dinner and overnight accommodations.
Day 3: Ibyi’wacu Cultural Tour and Return to Kigali
On the final day, enjoy a leisurely breakfast, then check out of the lodge and set out on the Ibyi’wacu Cultural Tour. This tour offers an enriching experience with the Banyarwanda community, where you can:
