Day 1: Kampala or Entebbe – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Your 4-Day Uganda Gorilla & Batwa Trail begins with an early morning departure from Kampala or Entebbe.
Meet your Abunda Discoveries Uganda driver-guide and begin the journey toward southwestern Uganda. The drive takes you through changing landscapes, rural communities, rolling hills and beautiful countryside.
Depending on your route and selected gorilla trekking sector, you will have stops for breakfast, lunch, refreshments and photographs along the way.
As you approach Bwindi, the scenery becomes increasingly mountainous and green. The impressive rainforest provides an exciting introduction to your gorilla trekking adventure.
Arrive at your lodge in the afternoon or evening, check in and relax. Your guide will brief you about the following day’s gorilla trekking experience and help you prepare for the trek.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
Today is the main highlight of your 4-Day Uganda Gorilla & Batwa Trail.
After an early breakfast, proceed to your designated gorilla trekking briefing point. Bwindi has four major trekking sectors: Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga and Nkuringo.
At the briefing, experienced guides and Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers explain the trekking procedures, safety requirements and responsible gorilla-viewing guidelines.
You will then enter the ancient Bwindi rainforest in search of your assigned gorilla family.
The trek can take approximately 2–7 hours depending on the location of the gorillas and the terrain. Once you find the gorilla family, you will have a memorable opportunity to observe these magnificent animals in their natural habitat.
After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.
Spend the evening enjoying the peaceful surroundings of Bwindi and reflecting on one of Africa’s most extraordinary wildlife encounters.

Day 3: Batwa Cultural & Forest Experience
After breakfast, continue your 4-Day Uganda Gorilla & Batwa Trail with an immersive Batwa cultural experience.
The Batwa Forest Experience provides an opportunity to learn about the traditional relationship between the Batwa people and the forest.
During the guided experience, Batwa community members may demonstrate traditional forest knowledge and activities such as fire-making, herbal medicine, traditional hunting techniques, music and dance, as well as culturally significant sites. Uganda Wildlife Authority identifies the Batwa Forest Experience Trail in Bwindi as a tourism product co-managed by UWA and Batwa community members.
This experience offers a different perspective of Bwindi, complementing the wildlife adventure of the previous day with cultural learning and community interaction.
After the experience, return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation.
The remainder of the afternoon can be spent relaxing at the lodge, enjoying the surrounding scenery or taking an optional community activity if available.

Day 4: Bwindi – Kampala or Entebbe
After breakfast, begin the final day of your 4-Day Uganda Gorilla & Batwa Trail.
Leave Bwindi and travel back toward Kampala or Entebbe, enjoying the beautiful landscapes of southwestern Uganda along the way.
Depending on your travel schedule, stop for lunch and refreshments before continuing the journey.
On arrival in Kampala or Entebbe, your driver-guide will drop you at your hotel, residence or Entebbe International Airport, depending on your arrangements.
