4 Days Bwindi Gorilla Trekking and Golden Monkey Tour
Day 1: Kigali -Transfer to Bwindi home of Uganda Gorillas
You will be picked up from your hotel in Kigali or at the airport and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park located in the western part of Uganda with approximately4-5 hours’ drive from Kigali via Katuna border. Proceed to Bwindi arriving in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay at Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge/Buhoma Haven lodge/Bakiga lodge
Day 2: Gorilla trekking Uganda – Bwindi
Enjoy early morning breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters with your packed lunch for briefing by the ranger guides and later head into the forest for your trek. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi takes 2 to 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. These primates roam the park freely and there is no way of telling where they will be for a particular day.
On finding them, you will be allowed 1 hour to view and take photos of these gentle primates, enjoy your lunch packs and meet your driver / guide and transfer back to your lodge, check-out and connect to Kisoro. Dinner and overnight stay at Lake Mulehe Safari lodge
Day 3: Golden Monkey trekking – Mgahinga national park
After early morning breakfast, connect to Mgahinga national park for a briefing about the golden monkeys. Meet your guides and enter the forest to start the hike in search of the golden monkeys. This will take about 2-5 hours depending on the location of the golden monkeys. You will be allowed to spend 1 hour in their presence. Descend and return to you lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at lodge as above.
Day 4: Transfer back to Kigali and Departure
You will enjoy breakfast, transfer back to Kigali with a stopover for lunch. Proceed to Kigali arriving in the afternoon. Drop off at your hotel in Kigali, or Kigali airport for your onward flight.
