Day 1: Arrival in Kigali and Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking and Canopy Walk in Nyungwe Forest

Wake up early for an exciting chimpanzee trekking experience in Nyungwe Forest. After a briefing at the park headquarters, you’ll venture deep into the forest, following the sounds of chattering chimps as they swing through the treetops. Spend quality time observing these fascinating primates in their natural habitat before returning for lunch at your lodge.
In the afternoon, embark on the famous Nyungwe Canopy Walk, a 70-meter-high suspended bridge offering breathtaking views of the forest below. The drive takes approximately 5–6 hours, passing through beautiful rolling hills and rural landscapes. On arrival, check in at your luxurious lakefront hotel and enjoy lunch overlooking the water. Spend the afternoon relaxing by the beach, taking a boat ride, or exploring the town’s lively local markets. In the evening, enjoy a candlelit dinner by the lake and prepare for your next adventure — hiking Mount Nyiragongo.

Day 4: Mount Nyiragongo Hike (DR Congo)

After an early breakfast, cross the Goma border into the Democratic Republic of Congo (with visa arrangements pre-handled). Proceed to Virunga National Park Headquarters for registration and a safety briefing before starting your Mount Nyiragongo hike. This 5–6-hour ascent takes you through lush forest, old lava fields, and rugged volcanic terrain. Along the way, enjoy incredible views of the Virunga Mountains and the surrounding region.
Reach the summit in the late afternoon and witness the awe-inspiring lava lake, glowing in fiery shades of red and orange — one of the most dramatic sights on Earth. Depending on your schedule, enjoy a brief city tour or shopping stop before being transferred to the airport for your departure — marking the end of an unforgettable adventure through Rwanda and Congo.
