Day 1: Arrival in Kigali and City Tour

On arrival at Kigali International Airport, you’ll be met by your professional driver-guide who will give you a briefing about your safari. Depending on your arrival time, enjoy a Kigali city tour, visiting key attractions such as the Kigali Genocide Memorial, Kimironko Market, and local craft shops for souvenirs.
After lunch, set off for a scenic drive to Musanze, the base town for Volcanoes National Park. The journey offers breathtaking views of rolling hills and lush green countryside.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a detailed gorilla trekking briefing. Accompanied by expert rangers, you’ll begin your hike into the misty forest in search of one of the habituated gorilla families.
The trek can last from 2 to 6 hours depending on their movements, but the reward is an extraordinary hour spent observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat — a once-in-a-lifetime encounter.
After the trek, return to your lodge to relax or take an optional cultural visit to the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village to learn about traditional Rwandan life.

Day 3: Golden Monkey Tracking and Twin Lakes Visit

Today, you’ll embark on an exciting golden monkey tracking experience. These rare primates, known for their bright golden fur and playful nature, are found only in the Virunga Volcanoes region.
After your trek, enjoy lunch at the lodge before visiting the beautiful Twin Lakes of Burera and Ruhondo, surrounded by stunning volcanic landscapes. Enjoy a relaxing boat ride or simply take in the scenery.

Day 4: Mount Bisoke Hike or Dian Fossey Tomb Visit

After breakfast, you’ll have a choice of two incredible activities:

  • Option 2: Visit the Dian Fossey Tomb and Karisoke Research Center, where the legendary primatologist devoted her life to gorilla conservation.

Both activities offer a mix of adventure, history, and scenic beauty. Return to your lodge in the afternoon for relaxation and dinner.

Day 5: Transfer Back to Kigali – Departure

After breakfast, enjoy a leisurely morning before starting your scenic drive back to Kigali.
