Tour Summary:

Detailed Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali and Transfer to Nyungwe National Park

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you’ll be greeted by your driver-guide and briefed on your safari. If time allows, explore Kigali’s history with a city tour, visiting the Genocide Memorial and National Museum. Later, drive to Nyungwe National Park for your first overnight stay.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking and Canopy Walk in Nyungwe

Start early with breakfast and head to the park headquarters for a briefing. Track the chimpanzees in their natural habitat—Nyungwe is home to many primates, and you may spot other wildlife along the way. After spending an hour with the chimps, take part in the Canopy Walk, offering a bird’s-eye view of the forest. Enjoy breathtaking views and keep an eye out for more wildlife.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park & Batwa Cultural Experience

Today, travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda, home to over 400 mountain gorillas. En route, enjoy stunning scenery as you pass through Rwanda to Uganda. Once you arrive in Bwindi, have lunch and then experience the Batwa Cultural Experience—learn about the Batwa people, who once lived alongside the gorillas, and discover their ancient hunting skills and forest life.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

Prepare for the highlight of the trip: Gorilla Trekking. After breakfast, you’ll be briefed on the rules and safety guidelines, then set off to track one of the gorilla families. The trek can range from 30 minutes to 6 hours, depending on the location of the gorillas. Spend an unforgettable hour with them, capturing their social behaviors and interactions. After the trek, return to your lodge to relax and enjoy dinner.

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park & Afternoon Activities

Leave Bwindi for Queen Elizabeth National Park, with a chance to spot the famous tree-climbing lions in the Ishasha sector. After lunch, enjoy a launch cruise on the Kazinga Channel, where you’ll encounter hippos, crocodiles, and various birds. The cruise offers great photo opportunities. In the evening, head out on a game drive to spot wildlife like elephants, buffaloes, and antelopes.

Day 6: Morning Game Drive & Departure

On your last day, embark on an early morning game drive to witness nocturnal animals returning from their hunts. The park is home to over 1000 mammals and 600 bird species, so there’s always something to see.
