1 Day Gorilla Trekking Safari from Kisoro
1 Day Gorilla Trekking Safari from Kisoro. Start your day bright and early with a pick-up from your guesthouse in Kisoro, a charming town nestled in the highlands of southwestern Uganda. After meeting your driver-guide, you’ll embark on a short and scenic drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, specifically to the Rushaga or Nkuringo sector, depending on your allocated gorilla family group. The drive typically takes about 1 to 1.5 hours, winding through lush hills and terraced farms.
Upon arrival at the park headquarters, you’ll join other trekkers for a comprehensive briefing conducted by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. They’ll provide essential information on gorilla behavior, trekking guidelines, and safety precautions.
You’ll then set off into the forest with your trekking team, including rangers and local guides. The trek can range from 2 to 5 hours, depending on the gorillas’ movements. The trail can be muddy, steep, and challenging—but deeply rewarding. Once you find the gorilla family, you’ll spend a magical hour observing them in their natural habitat. Watch them feed, play, and interact especially the impressive silverback leading the group.
After your time with the gorillas, you’ll hike back to the starting point, receive a trekking certificate, and return to Kisoro in the afternoon. Expect to arrive back at your hotel by early evening, with incredible memories and photos to cherish forever.
