1 Day Gorilla Trekking in Uganda from Kigali
Begin your 1 Day Gorilla Trekking in Uganda from Kigali unforgettable gorilla trekking experience with an early morning pick-up—between 4:00 and 5:00 AM—from your hotel in Kigali, Rwanda. Your professional driver-guide will greet you and start the scenic 3–4 hour journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in southwestern Uganda. You’ll cross the border into Uganda via Katuna and head to Rushaga sector.
When you arrive at the park headquarters, Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers will welcome you and conduct a briefing session. They’ll explain gorilla behavior, trekking guidelines, and forest safety tips to prepare you for the adventure ahead.
Next, you’ll head into the jungle with your ranger and a team of trackers. The trek typically lasts 2 to 5 hours, depending on where the gorilla family is located that day. As you hike through the thick forest, you’ll move through steep and sometimes muddy trails—but the reward is worth it.
Once your team locates the gorillas, you’ll spend a powerful one hour watching them in their natural environment. You’ll observe them as they feed, groom, play, and rest—just a few meters away. This is a deeply moving and rare wildlife encounter.
After your hour with the gorillas, you’ll return to the trailhead, receive a certificate of participation, and then begin the drive back to Kigali. You’ll arrive in the evening, tired but thrilled from an extraordinary day with the mountain gorillas of Uganda.
