Day 1: Equator –Great Lakes Museum -Transfer to Bwindi Forest

This is a long drive but very scenic, we bet you have never experienced it before, so we will leave very early at 7am. Our first stop over will be at the equator for a bathroom break, equator experience and photo shoot opportunity. Next stop over will be in Mbarara where we have lunch. Then the last stop over is at the great lakes museum which is also called the Switzerland of Africa, electrifying views! We embark on our last leg deep into the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest where you will be spending the 2 nights in this African rain forest.

Day2: Gorilla tracking –Nature walk

Today is the most awaited day. Going gorilla tracking is one in a lifetime experience. Only 800 of them are alive and more than half of them live in Uganda. You will go trekking in the jungles of the African forests once you see the gorillas, you will be allowed an hour with them and then trek back to base camp where you will be transferred to your lodge to relax. Depending on the time you come back, there is an option of a nature walk on one of the developed nature walk trails in the forest park.You will later be transferred to Lake Bunyonyi, check into your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Lake Bunyonyi – Relaxation

Wake up at leisure, soak in the beauty of the over 27 islands dotted on the lake, after your breakfast a boat ride awaitsyou to visit some of the islands the signature one being Akampene Island also known as “the punishment island” where not long ago the natives of the area if a girl got pregnant out of wedlock she would be taken to this islands and left for death. This was to send a message of sexual purity among other cultural values and norms. Explore the islands, you will return to the lodge, relax.

Day 4: Transfer to Kampala/ Airport

On your final day, enjoy breakfast with a view of Bwindi’s forested mountains one last time. Then, you’ll begin your journey back to Kampala or Entebbe International Airport, taking in the scenic vistas along the way. Stop for lunch en route and arrive in Entebbe in time for your onward flight or to explore more of Uganda if you wish.
