This 5-day safari is your ticket to a world of breathtaking encounters—from tracking rhinos and witnessing the raw power of Murchison Falls to observing chimpanzees in Kibale, the “Primate Capital of the World.” Each day promises unique experiences and lasting memories in the heart of Uganda’s wild beauty.
Day 1: Zziwa Rhino Tracking and Arrival in Murchison Falls National Park
Our adventure begins bright and early as we head north, traversing Uganda’s open farmlands and vast savannahs. Our first stop is at Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where you’ll have the rare opportunity to track rhinos and observe them in their natural habitat. After a delicious lunch in Masindi town, we’ll continue to Murchison Falls National Park, where you can settle into your lodge for an evening of relaxation, dinner, and anticipation for the exciting days ahead.
Day 2: Game Drive and Nile Boat Cruise
Prepare for an early start today as we embark on a morning game drive through the park. With luck, you’ll spot some of Uganda’s “Big Four”—lions, leopards, Cape buffalo, and elephants—as well as a variety of other wildlife. The park’s tranquil beauty and abundant life make each sighting feel special. In the afternoon, you’ll enjoy a three-hour boat cruise along the iconic Victoria Nile, with opportunities to see hippos, crocodiles, and numerous bird species. As evening falls, we’ll return to the lodge for a restful night.
Day 3: Top of Murchison Falls and Transfer to Kibale National Park
After breakfast, we’ll visit the awe-inspiring top of Murchison Falls, where the Nile crashes through a narrow 9-meter gorge and plunges 40 meters below, creating an unforgettable display of power and beauty. Following this experience, we’ll begin our scenic journey to Kibale National Park. Along the way, we’ll enjoy lunch in Hoima and pass through rolling hills, tea plantations, and vibrant communities. By evening, we’ll arrive at your lodge in Kibale, ready to settle in, enjoy dinner, and prepare for tomorrow’s adventures.
Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi Community Walk
Today, we’ll explore Kibale Forest, known for its rich biodiversity and incredible concentration of primates. With the guidance of an experienced ranger, you’ll track chimpanzees, observing them as they move through the forest canopy. After spending an hour with these fascinating primates, we’ll return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, you’ll immerse yourself in local culture on the Bigodi community walk, where you’ll meet friendly residents, spot beautiful birdlife like the great blue turaco, and enjoy a guided swamp walk. By evening, we’ll return to the lodge for a relaxing night.
Day 5: Tea Plantation Tour and Departure to Kampala or Airport
On our final day, we’ll take a tour of a local tea plantation, where you’ll learn about the entire tea production process while taking in the lush, scenic views. After this memorable experience, we’ll begin our journey back, either to Kampala or directly to the airport, depending on your travel plans.
