A NIGHT IN NAIROBI
Before you head off on your safari or perhaps upon your return and want to chill out, let us show you the highlights of our town and its very active nightlife.
Just as we personalize your safaris with us according to your preferences, we bring that same customizable element to your Night in Nairobi.
Bring on the Night
And what better way than with a glorious sunset? Few places are as famous for their brilliant sunsets as this portal city to African safaris. Whether because of its proximity to the equator or other atmospheric conditions, prepare yourself for deep-painted skies of red, purple, and brilliant orange hues.
The Ngong Hills is a favorite viewing spot for Nairobi’s sunsets with its unobstructed views and surrounding dramatic escarpments.
Then, as the color-streaked sky ushers in its first stars, we can head to one of Nairobi’s busy street scenes for its restaurants, hotels, bars, and people-watching. Tom Mboya Street is one of the city’s oldest and busiest, bustling with street life, eateries, and nightclubs.
Or we can take you to visit Moi Avenue, a grand, distinguished boulevard and comfortable green space to stroll, as you take in the hotels, cinemas, mosques, and parks.
Crocodile Anyone?
You’ll find every type of cuisine in our multicultural city, from the Middle-Eastern flavors of Tambourin to the old-world clubby steakhouse offerings at the Lord Delamare Terrace.
But for an exotic taste of the local fare, let’s settle in at the internationally famous and aptly named dining spot, Carnivore. Here you can sample ostrich, crocodile, and camel. All meats are roasted over a charcoal pit on traditional Maasai swords. Fill your plate with impala, gazelle, giraffe… even chicken and beef!
Club Hopping
Nairobi at Night is a bright mix of bars, lounges, and clubs where you can sample every sort of music, from jazz to reggae, to Latin and African beats.
For a perfect mix of Cuban and African sounds, check out the Havanna Bar for its party and dance scene. Or, join the backpackers and ex-pats at the Ki Klub House for reggae and jazz.
Change up the pace at the Exchange Bar with its sofas, ceiling fans, cigars, and single malts. Or settle in with a sophisticated vibe and glittering views of the city at the Sky Lounge, with its alfresco dining and rooftop pool.
Dancing and Drumming
Want to end your Night in Nairobi with an explosion of light, sound, color, dancing, and bursting acrobatics? You’ll want to experience The Safari Cat Dancers cabaret at the Safari Park Hotel.
This onslaught of drumming, dancing, and bright spectacle, is an insane action-packed hour that leaves its audience astonished. A perfect way to finish your nighttime tour of Nairobi.
We offer these and many other clubs, venues, and restaurants for your discovery. So, when you’re meeting with us, to finalize your safari plans, just let us know how we can design your special Night in Nairobi.
