This 9 Day Hiking Adventure and Kidepo Valley Safari will take you to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to see the Rhinos and later enjoy a scenic drive to Kidepo Valley National Park. This safari gives you a chance to enjoy wildlife game drives in Kidepo Valley National Park as you sight wildlife animals in their natural habitant. The 9 Day Hiking Adventure and Kidepo Valley Safari also gives you an opportunity of 2 Days Mt. Elgon Hike up to Wagagai peak 4321 meters which is Mount Elgon highest peak. After the hike on Mt. Elgon, you will transfer to Jinja for a white water rafting experience on the Nile River.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Early in the morning, you will be picked up by your driver guide and head out to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary to see the Rhinos in the wild. You will travel through the villages of rural northern Uganda to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in time for lunch.

In the afternoon, you will conduct the first activity on your Hiking Adventure and Kidepo Valley Safari- Rhino Trekking. This is a great opportunity to see these magnificent beasts on foot in a controlled natural environment where the Rhinos are free to roam within the huge sanctuary .

Day 2: Transfer to Kitgum

After an early breakfast, you will embark on a scenic drive to Kitgum with a stopover at the ‘capital of the north’, Gulu for lunch. After lunch we take the road north to Kitgum taking around 2 hours through the rural north through different villages and amazing landscapes.

Day 3: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park
In the morning after breakfast, visit the painted rocks after which you will enjoy a scenic drive to Kidepo Valley National Park in Kaabong district. The drive is long but scenic offering you amazing and stunning views of villages, the flat landscapes with scattered shrubs. Arrive at the hotel in the afternoon and check in and enjoy a dinner and an overnight.

Day 4: Game drive in Kidepo Valley National Park
After an early breakfast, conduct a game drive inside the Kidepo Valley National park as one of the best experiences on your Hiking Adventure and Kidepo Valley Safari. This drive gives you an ultimate African savanna wildlife experience. Get a chance to see the big Cats doing the live hunt for their prey and into the Narus Valley in search of lion, elephant, giraffe, eland, zebra, and leopard and to marvel at the sight of the huge herd of buffalo grazing in the wetland.

In the afternoon, you will head towards the seasonal Kidepo river in search of cheetah and ostrich. You can take a cooling drink among the Barassas palms at the Kidepo river and also visit the Karamojong typical community and learn their way of life, culture and Traditions.

Day 5: Transfer to Mt Elgon National Park
After breakfast, drive to Mbale Town where you will visit the sipi Falls. Mbale sits on the foot of the magnificent Elgon Mountain While in Mbale, find time and interact with any local person to tell you the reason why Elgon is called Mount Masaba. You will surely be amazed by the legend told by the natives here.

Day 6: Hiking Peak Wagagai of Mt Elgon
After breakfast, embark on another important activity on your Hiking Adventure and Kidepo Valley Safari where you will hike the slopes of Mt. Elgon to reach Wagagai peak of Mt. Elgon which is a once in a lifetime chance.

Day 7: Transfer to Jinja
After breakfast, drive to Jinja. Check into the Hotel and take an oversight tour of Jinja town and source of the Nile on a boat cruise as the most perfect way to enjoy a few relaxing hours on the River Nile. This boat excursion takes like one hour and you will have an opportunity to view birds on the source of the Nile.

Day 8: White water Rafting the Nile
