Detailed Itinerary of Mountain Gorilla trekking Rwanda

 DAY 1: Kigali city tour & transfer to Volcanoes National park

On this day after your morning breakfast, our tour guide driver will meet you at your Hotel and lead you to various famous and exclusive clutural, religius  and Historical sites of Kigali city center. You will start your day’s fascination by going on Kigali city tour where you will visit Kigali Genocide memorial in Gisozi, visit local craft market Nyamata church among many places lunch then after you will transfer to volcanoes national park for dinner and overnight stay at;

 DAY 2: Mountain Gorilla trekking Rwanda and cultural visit to Iby’iwacu

After your early morning breakfast, your guide will drive you to the park offices where briefing and activity registration is done from, you will carry snacks for lunch and enough drinking water and dressed in gorilla tracking attire, after the briefing with the park guide, you will start your tracking of these rare gentle giants in their natural habitat which will take you between 4 and 7 hours.

Once you find them you will be allowed maximum of one hour with them as you take pictures thereafter you will return back to your lodge rest a bit and later you will take visit to the community to iby iwacu for cultural entertainments, that will mark the day return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at;

 DAY 3: Mount Bisoke Hike – volcano

A relatively early start of the Rwanda Gorilla Tracking & Hiking Tour after breakfast, report to the park offices ready with packed lunch and enough drinking water and in hiking gear, you will be briefed by the park ranger guide then ascend to the mountain for your hike.

This will probably take 6 to 8 hours in total. With this activity you must be fit physically to conquer the beautiful hill as it gets muddy when it rains but very interesting to get to the top where the Crater Lake can be viewed from before descending back to the lodge.

DAY 4: Golden monkey tracking & transfer back to Kigali

Early morning after your breakfast, you will report again to the park offices for your golden monkey tracking. These are endangered type of monkey which is only found in this mountain range at high elevation within the Albertine rift region.

They can easily be seen in large troop but on close view because of being habituated to human presence. The trekking takes 3 to 4 hours in total. when you return, you will have you lunch at your lodge thereafter the guide will transfer you back to Kigali up to your hotel or Airport if it’s your scheduled flight time.
