Stop At: Volcanoes National Park, Musanze Kinigi, Ruhengeri, Rwanda
This 1-day Rwanda gorilla trekking tour will start and end in Kigali, the capital of Rwanda. Our driver will pick you up from your hotel or lodge (after having breakfast or with a packed breakfast) at 4:30 a.m. to start on your 2-hour journey to Volcanoes National park.
The journey to Volcanoes National Park takes an average of 2–3 hours, and on reaching the park offices, you will be briefed by park officers and then assigned to a gorilla group to track.
You will then be led into the forest by a ranger guide to track the primates.
The gorilla hike in Rwanda may take between 1 and 8 hours, depending on the movements of the primates. However, upon locating the gorillas, you will spend an hour with them.
Enjoy the unique adventure, and you can take pictures on your 1-day Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Tour.
After 1 hour, which seems to be like minutes, we trek back out of the forest and then transfer back to Kigali.

Bwindi forest is thought to be a remnant of a vast forest that once covered most of Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, 1 Day Silverback Gorilla tour in Bwindi is blessed with incredible biodiversity. The park has 160 tree species, 100 of ferns and countless butterflies. Of all the amazing things that the park has to offer, mountain gorillas seem to have stolen all the show. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is special among the mountain gorilla parks because it is the only place where one can also see chimpanzees. It is managed by the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA).

Gorilla trekking is the main activity in the park and attracts thousands of tourists to the park. Bwindi is the best place to go for gorilla trekking because it has more gorillas and the permits are reasonably priced. A gorilla permit in Bwindi costs $700
Note the gorilla permit will be increased effective from 1st July 2024 to $800 for foreign non residents , $700 for foreign residents, 300,000 ug shillings for East African residents and $500 for the rest of African Residents, while in Rwanda it is $1500. Bwindi has 24 habituated gorilla groups but over 50 others have been left undisturbed wild. It is only in Bwindi that primate lovers can take part in a 3 day gorilla habituation experience. Gorillas in Bwindi can be tracked in four sectors – Rushaga, Ruhija, Buhoma and Nkuringo.

DAY 1:
KIGALI RWANDA TO BWINDI UGANDA
A guide from Abunda discoveries Uganda picks you up from Kigali international airport or your hotel and brief you about your tour. Before your journey to Uganda, you have an opportunity to tour the city of Kigali and important sites like the genocide war memorial centers. After touring the city, you will embark on a 4 hours drive to Bwindi through the Katuna (Uganda – Rwanda border). After Katuna you will head to Ruhija sector, Buhoma sector from the North or Rushaga or Nkuringo from the south all in Bwindi depends on the availability of the accommodation. This journey gives you an opportunity to see the beautiful countryside and landscapes in Rwanda and Uganda. Rwanda has eye-catching rolling hills and plantations while Uganda has dense green forest around the Bwindi area.
DAY 2:
GORILLA WATCHING AND DEPARTURE
You wake up very early to take breakfast. Our guide picks you and takes you to the park offices where you will be briefed and given information regarding tracking gorillas in Bwindi. 2 Day Gorilla Tour in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park get assigned a gorilla group and given an opportunity to hire a porter at a cost of minimum 20USD. Your lodge should arrange for you packed lunch and drinking water. Gorilla trekking takes anywhere from 30 minutes to 7hours depending on the location of your assigned gorilla family that particular day. Once you spot the gorillas, take as many photos as you can and try to follow instructions from the head ranger/guide. After completing the trek, come back to your hotel, freshen up, eat/drink something and checkout. Thereafter, our guide takes you back to Kigali international airport or your hotel.

DAY 1 : TRAVEL TO BWINDI FOREST NATIONAL PARK
On your 3 days Gorilla tracking tour to Bwindi Forest you will be picked from the hotel /Airport have breakfast setoff as to avoid the early morning traffic jam in Kampala. The trip starts ‚ traveling south-westwards through the districts of Mpigi, and Masaka while viewing the local livelihoods of the communities in the central region of Uganda. Then connect to Mbarara where you make a stopover for lunch at Agip Motel/Igongo Cultural Center.
After lunch proceed to Bwindi forest through the through the southern section of Queen Elizabeth National Park and if lucky you may see the Tree Climbing Lions, and other big fives such as Elephants and Buffaloes. Continue with views of the magnificent scenery and the rolling hills of Kigezi and finally‚ Kanungu district connecting to Buhoma which is part of the Bwindi Forest. Arriving in Bwindi at around 5:30 pm for check in at your reserved lodge. Dinner and Overnight.

DAY 2 : TREKKING GORILLA TOUR BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST NATIONAL PARK
Wake up very early in the morning, at 6:00 am for breakfast and then proceed to the Mountain Gorilla trekking briefing point, to be briefed about the safety guidelines and be allocated guides and groups for tracking Gorillas. Setting off is at exactly 8:00 am‚ the ranger guides make sure everyone has packed lunch, enough drinking water‚ comfortable safe shoes and a porter (if needed) to help you carry your backpack so you can comfortably enjoy your Gorilla Trekking Experience.
Observing and photographing the gentle giants (Mountain gorillas) is so breathtaking! You are literally looking at creatures so human in every form! Be prepared as Trekking of the Mountain Gorillas may take 1 hour to a full day depending on where your gorilla family group may be at. After tracking Gorillas‚ return to the lodge and have a relaxed evening or a walk to the pygmy families in the outskirts of the forest. Have dinner and overnight at the lodge.

DAY 3 : TRAVEL FROM BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST NATIONAL PARK TO KAMPALA / ENTEBBE
Have breakfast and thereafter embark on the journey back to Kampala / Entebbe. Lunch en‐route at Agip Motel / Igongo Cultural Center. Then a second stop over at the Uganda equator for souvenirs and view a few facts about the equator. You will then proceed to Kampala or drop off at the airport for the return flight back home. End the tour.
