Day 1: Transfer to Jinja via Kampala – Visit Source of the Nile
Upon arrival at Entebbe airport, you will be met by our company representative and transfer to Jinja town which is about 3-4 hours’ drive from Entebbe airport depending to road traffic. Upon arrival, check-in your reserved hotel, have lunch and rest for a while then later afternoon, visit the source of the Nile. Day 2: White water rafting and sunset boat cruise on Lake Victoria
After breakfast, meet your driver and connect for water rafting experience on the Nile, it’s a full day activity. You will first report for briefing then be provided with rafting gears for the activity. After rafting, connect to the lodge to where you will refresh as you prepare for a relaxing sunset boat cruise on Lake Victoria. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at hotel as above.
Day 3: Transfer to Murchison falls national park and visit top of the falls visit
You will be picked up by your driver/guide to start the tour at the hotel after your breakfast. Set off for Murchison falls national park which is a 6-7 hours’ drive with en-route lunch. Upon arrival in the park in the afternoon, connect to explore the top of the Murchison falls giving you the best sights of the falls, walking along Bakers trail. Thereafter, connect to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay at Parkside Safari lodge for budget/Pakuba Safari Lodge for mid-range/Paraa Safari Lodge for luxury
Day 4: Morning game drive and Boat cruise and evening game drive
Early morning after breakfast at your lodge, embark on a morning game drive in the northern part of the park to the delta. This is where you may spot various animal species like elephants, giraffes, lions, hyenas, cape buffaloes, leopards (on a lucky day), and different species of antelopes including the Uganda Kobs, Jackson hartebeest, Oribi, waterbucks among others. After the game drive, return to your lodge to refresh and have lunch.
In the afternoon you will go for a boat cruise to see the magnificent falls along the River Nile. Cruising along the bottom of the falls will expose you to the park’s streaming hippo and serried ranges of crocodile along the sandbanks, different bird species and large numbers of different species getting down to drink & bathe. After the boat cruise, return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Ziwa rhino sanctuary – transfer to Kibale national park (5-6 hours) – Bigodi swamp
After breakfast at your lodge, connect on a 2 hours’ drive to Ziwa rhino sanctuary for the rhino tracking experience. This is the only place in Uganda where to you will see the rhinos. You will receive a briefing then start the walk to find the rhinos and on finding them, you will be allowed to watch and take pictures of them.
With en-route lunch, continue on your journey to Kibale national park in the western part of Uganda with stopovers to stretch. Upon arrival at your lodge, check-in and relax. Dinner and overnight stay at Chimpanzee Forest Guesthouse/Isunga lodge for budget/Crater Safari lodge for luxury
Day 6: Chimpanzee Trekking activity – Bigodi swamp
After breakfast, drive to Kibale park head offices for briefing about the chimpanzees. Enter the forest and start trek the chimpanzees in their natural habitat, its take 2-5 hours to find them and on finding them, you are allowed 1 hour to be in their process as they swing from the branches in the canopy high above the forest floor.
Have lunch at the lodge and later afternoon, connect to explore the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. The reserve is abundant with butterflies, plants, animals, in particular, birds and primates. Spectacular birds like Great Blue Turaco and rare Papyrus Gonolek will be of great interest to birders. The swamp is also home to more elusive animals such as Red Colobus monkeys and Sitatunga antelope. You will also have the opportunity to visit local community projects that have been financed by tourism and interact with the community. Dinner and overnight stay at lodge as above
Day 7: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park – boat cruise along the Kazinga channel
After breakfast, transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park. This is a 3 hours’ drive arriving at good time for lunch at the lodge. Later afternoon, go for a 2 hours’ launch cruise along the Kazinga Channel into Lake Edward, this cruise will let you pass through a place of the highest concentration of hippos and you may also see many animals drinking at the water’s edge. The cruise also offers a good platform for photography, bird watching, and games. Day 8: Morning game drive and Ishasha game drive
After your breakfast, you will set off to an early morning a game drive where you will also encounter other animals like buffaloes, elephants, waterbuck, Uganda Kob, and other types of antelopes. On a lucky day, you will sight the leopards, lions and hyenas.
Thereafter, connect to Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth national park, home of the tree climbing lions. Connect for an afternoon game drive where you will have chances of seeing the tree climbing lions on tree branches. Thereafter, connect to your lodge in Ishasha sector for dinner and overnight stay in Ishasha Wilderness Camp for luxury/Ishasha Jungle lodge for mid-range/Enjojo Lodge for budget.
Day 9: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable national park (6 hours)
After breakfast, meet your driver to depart for Bwindi impenetrable national park on a 4-5 hour’ drive. Upon arrival at your lodge, have lunch and spend your afternoon at leisure while relaxing at the lodge as you prepare for your next day activity. Dinner, and spend a night at Buhoma Community Rest Camp for budget option/Buhoma Haven Lodge for mid-range/Silverback Safari lodge for luxury
Day 10: Gorilla trekking experience
Have breakfast and transfer you to park offices for briefing about Mountain Gorilla trekking by a local guide. The time taken is usually between 2-8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. Meeting the gorillas unexpectedly is one of the most captivating lifetime experiences. You will have a chance to observe and take pictures at very close range. You will observe adults feeding and groaning among themselves. After an hour with the long-awaited gorillas, your guide and rangers will lead you back to the starting point where your driver will readily be waiting to transfer you back to the lodge. Day 11: Explore Lake Bunyonyi
After breakfast, connect to Lake Bunyonyi to explore Lake Bunyonyi on a canoe ride. This is the place to relax after all the hiking experience. Lake Bunyonyi is the second deepest lake in Africa with about 29 islands such as the punishment island, Bushara, Bwama and Njuyeera islands to mention a few. The lake is surrounded by steep terraced hillsides and best of all, unlike other lakes, Lake Bunyonyi is Bilharzia, hippo and crocodile free with crystal clear waters good for swimming.
After lunch, you can either relax at the lodge or go for Zip-lining at your one cost or do any other interesting activity of your choice. Return to relax at the lodge with great views of the hills and the lake. Dinner and overnight stay at lodge as above
Day 12: Transfer to Lake Mburo national park – boat trip and evening game drive
Early morning, you will have breakfast, drive to Lake Mburo national park. It is about 4 hours’ drive with lunch at the lodge, arriving at the lodge at good time for lunch. After lunch, connect for a boat trip on Lake Mburo for birding experience and see other land and water animals.
Later evening, connect for an evening game drive in the park for animals like the Zebras, Impala, waterbucks, Uganda kobs, Giraffes, Lions, Leopards and other animals, later evening return to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay at Eagles Nest lodge for budget/Arcadia Cottages Lake Mburo for mid-range/Mihingo Safari Lodge for luxury option
Day 13: Transfer back to Entebbe and Departure
After breakfast, depart the lodge and embark on your journey to Entebbe. It’s a 4 hours’ drive, connect for your return Covid 19 mandatory test, have lunch and rest at Papyrus Guesthouse for budget/Best Western Garden Hotel for mid-range/Protea Hotel for luxury while waiting for your night flight back home. After receiving your test results, you will be dropped off at Entebbe airport for your night flight back home. End of trip
