You’ll end the day with a hike to the top of Murchison Falls, where you can snap photos of the falls’ powerful, mist-filled descent. Afterward, return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Activities Overview
Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, located in Nakasongola District, is home to Uganda’s endangered white rhinos. Originally abundant, Uganda’s rhino population dwindled by the 1980s due to poaching. Established in 2005, Ziwa is now home to over 20 rhinos. Trekking rhinos on foot with a guide is a highlight, offering unique photo opportunities and a close connection with these “gentle giants.” The sanctuary also hosts a variety of birds, reptiles, and mammals like antelopes and hippos.
Budongo Forest
The largest mahogany forest in East Africa, Budongo Forest is known for its biodiversity, including primates like chimpanzees, over 300 bird species, and an abundance of butterflies. Nature walks and bird-watching excursions are popular, and the forest’s secluded setting makes it a haven for wildlife enthusiasts.
Murchison Falls National Park
Murchison Falls National Park, also known as Kabalega National Park, is Uganda’s largest and oldest safari park. The main attraction is Murchison Falls, where the Nile River narrows to just 7 meters, cascading down 43 meters with a thunderous roar. The river continues to Lake Albert, creating one of Uganda’s most stunning wildlife spectacles. Popular activities here include wildlife viewing, boat cruises to the falls, birding, and hot air ballooning. The park’s diverse landscape includes savannah, rainforest, and woodland, supporting a wide range of wildlife such as elephants, giraffes, lions, leopards, and countless bird species.
