DAY 1: TRANSFER TO NGAMBA ISLAND

This time round, your 3 day island tour starts after your early morning breakfast. You will be picked up at your hotel in Kampala/Entebbe to be transferred to Uganda Wildlife Education Centre for an hour’s boat cruise to Ngamba Island on Lake Victoria. This boat cruise on Lake Victoria to the island gives one a view of the wide range of wildlife with bird species like the kingfishers, cattle egrets, kites and marabou storks. Additionally, human activities like fishermen casting their nets in anticipation of a bounty and much more should be expected. Upon arrival, you will be briefed by one of the staff at Ngamba Visitors Centre about the island and the code of conduct, after which you will head out for the famed “A Caregiver for the Day” experience, one unique activity. This gives you an opportunity to prepare the food for the chimpanzees as well as feeding them. Other activities can be research and monitoring the chimpanzees, medical checkups and many more. After this close encounter with the adorable primates, you will have your lunch. Later in the evening you can opt to go fishing on Lake Victoria with certified and trained staff that will take you through their fishing experience and technical know-how.
