Overview

3-Day Trip to Queen Elizabeth National Park safari will take you to Uganda’s most visited national park, Queen Elizabeth National Park. The park covers an area of 1,978 sq. km and is found in the western part of the country, approximately 376km from Kampala. The park is home to about 100 mammal species and around 606 bird species. You will be in line to see large numbers of antelopes, crocodiles, hippos, elephants, and buffaloes among others during the game drives through the park.

Day 1: Travel from Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Wake up early, and enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Your guide will pick you up at 7:30 am and will brief you on the trip before you proceed on the 6-hour journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Along the way, you will have a few stopovers at the equator where you will take photographs. You will have lunch in Mbarara town at the Agip Motel.

Thereafter, proceed to the park as you drive through the spectacular landscape characterized by open grasslands, Ankole long-horned cattle, tea plantations, the Rift Valley escarpment, and various woodlands. Reach the park in the late afternoon and have a game drive as you drive to your lodge. Here, you will have dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon boat safari

Begin your day with a delicious cup of coffee or tea before going on the game drive on different trails in the park, including the Kasenyi trail. Along the Kasenyi trail, there is a great opportunity of seeing various animals like waterbuck, Uganda kob, elephant, buffalo, lion, warthog, as well as various birds. After the drive, return to the lodge for breakfast, and lunch in the afternoon.

Later during the afternoon, you will take pleasure in cruising on a 2-hour boat safari along the Kazinga Channel that connects Lake George and Lake Edward. From the boat, you will see a good number of animals like hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, warthogs, elephants, and kobs among others. You will also spot a variety of birds like the malachite kingfisher and pink-backed pelican on the banks and in trees. Return for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 3: Departure to Entebbe

With the superb memories of the past two days, you will enjoy a heavy and tasty breakfast. You will then check out of the lodge, and start your journey back to the airport with a stopover at the equator.
