When children are below the age of 15 and cannot be permitted to undertake Gorilla trekking safaris in Uganda and Rwanda, this should not stop the parents from going for the activity. All wildlife in Uganda National Parks has a minimum age of 6 years and therefore can be visited with children.
Activities for children while doing gorilla trekking
Some of the activities children can undertake include biking or cycling, visiting the neighboring communities, taking nature walks, and birding. The children will be under very good care with a professional ABUNDA DISCOVERIES UGANDA.
You can still travel with children who are too young (13 years and below) to take part in gorilla trekking. There are lots of interesting activities that they can take part in while you go out to search for the gorillas. Hotel staff can stay with them in the hotel and keep them engaged with games and children’s movies.

The Wildlife Authorities in the three countries will require that you send a copy of your passport before issuing the gorilla permit. The passport helps the park authorities know if you are eligible to take part.
Costs of gorilla permits in Rwanda
USD 1,500 per person, gorilla permits in Rwanda are nearly twice the cost of those in neighboring Uganda. The tourism authorities here have made a deliberate effort to orient the country towards more exclusive, higher-spending, and lower volume tourism, and the permit price reflects that strategy.
If you do decide to travel independently, arrive at Volcanoes National Park a day early because if you’re late, that’s it: you’ll miss your permit and you won’t get your money back.

Gorilla trekking permits in Uganda
At $800 per person, gorilla permits in Uganda are far from cheap but still more accessible than in neighboring Rwanda. The option for an extended “habituation experience” permits approximately four hours with the gorillas, rangers, and researchers. This fee doesn’t cover activity fees, only the park entrance.
Even though Uganda has nearly twice as many permits available, they still sell out quickly.
