Where can you do this experience in two locations?

Kibale National Park, P known as the primate capital, is a prime destination for chimpanzee habituation.

  • Fully day immersion. Unlike regular trekking, you spend the entire day with the chimpanzee community.

What is the gorilla habituation experience in Uganda?

The Uganda gorilla habituation experience is a full day activity in Bwindi impenetrable national park that allows a small group of participants to spend an extended period (four hours ) with wild mountain gorilla family as they become accustomed to human presence .unlike the one hour observatioj limit of traditional gorilla trekking, this experience involves joining researchers and rangers to observe and learn about the gorillas daily behavior contributing to their ongoing conservation and understanding.

What it entails

  • Extended observation. You will spend four hours with the gorilla family observing their natural behaviours such as feeding, grooming, and mother-infant interactions.
  • Participatory role.e .you become a participant in the habituation process itself, working alongside researchers and rangers to help the gorillas become more comfortable with humanpresencee

Differences from gorilla trekking

  • Duration. The main difference is the significantly longer time spent with the gorillas, four hours, compared to the one-hour limit in standard trekking.
  • Experience level. Habituation involves encountering less accustomed, semi–wild gorillas and requires more commitment, whereas trekking involves fully habituated groups.

  • Location. The experience takes place in the Rushaga and Nkuringo sector of Bwindi Impenetrable Park.
  • Group size: only four people are allowed to participate per day

Is there gorilla habituation in Rwanda

No gorilla habituation is offered in Rwanda. The gorilla habituation experience, where visitors spend more time with gorillas as they become more accustomed to humans, is only available in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Uganda. Wanda’s Volcanoes National Park offers standard gorilla trekking, which allows visitors to spend a one-hour visit with pre-habituated gorilla families.
