Trip Details

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be welcomed by your safari guide and transferred to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you may visit the Uganda Wildlife Education Center or take a relaxing boat ride on Lake Victoria. This day is all about unwinding and preparing for the adventure ahead.

Day 2: Drive to Kibale National Park – Home of the Chimpanzees

After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Kibale National Park, famous for having the highest concentration of chimpanzees in Africa. The journey takes about 5-6 hours, passing through tea plantations and lush countryside.

In the afternoon, enjoy a guided nature walk in Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, where you may see colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, and a variety of bird species.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Arrive in Bwindi in the evening, where you will settle into your lodge and prepare for the next day’s gorilla trekking experience.

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking – A Lifetime Experience

This is the highlight of the safari. After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing before setting off into Bwindi’s dense rainforest in search of mountain gorillas. The trek can last between 1 to 4 hours, depending on the gorillas’ movements. Once found, you will spend an hour in their presence, observing their interactions and behaviors.

After the trek, return to the lodge to relax or opt for an afternoon Batwa Cultural Experience, where you will meet Uganda’s indigenous forest people.

Day 7: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi – The Most Scenic Lake in Uganda
